Over the years (since 2014), A.I.M. has been preparing pre-service teachers for the teaching career by offering hands-on teaching experiences in university courses and community/school internships. The overall impact has been evident in terms of university students who speak to their improved competence and confidence in teaching.
CHILDREN’S ART CLUB (C.A.C.)
Children’s Art Club is a component of A.I.M. which embeds hands-on arts teaching experience into teacher preparation courses at UW-Stout. Children from throughout the regional community come to classes (or attend virtually in the case of 2020-21) to receive free training in the visual arts, as taught by university students who are learning to become teachers.

P.A.I.N.T. is the Program for Arts Integration for New Teachers. A program of Arts Integration Menomonie, P.A.I.N.T. is a collaborative partnership between the University of Wisconsin - Stout, the school district, and local community organizations. UW-Stout students who are learning to become teachers are given hands-on, authentic teaching experiences through art classes.

A.I.M.’s internship program took its classes online during the 2020-21 school year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The MINDFUL PLACE
Mindfulness is a significant part of A.I.M.’s programs, as it emphasizes the importance of self-care in teacher well-being. It also offers teachers a way to make mindfulness a part of their instructional practices, especially through classroom management. This video showcases A.I.M.’s latest project- “The Mindful Place”- which is a space for all students and staff to participate in mindfulness to support their own well-being and to manage the stressors of life at the university.

Mindfulness for Educators
UW-Stout Mindfulness Expert, Ann Brand, teaches mindfulness techniques to the teachers of the School District of the Menomonie Area and to pre-service teachers from UW-Stout. The training helps the teachers and students with managing their personal and professional lives.
THE TEACHING ARTISTS TALK
The Teaching Artists of Arts Integration Menomonie discuss their role in teaching curriculum in cooperating with classroom teachers. Babatunde Lea, Kobi Shaw, Charis Collins, Erika Svanoe, Melissa Kneeland, Yata Peinovich, and Kris Winter bring arts to elementary students captivating learning in an efficient way.
